Inspiration & Philosophy
I view life as a canvas and that is my art. The canvas, similar to a movie screen, reveals the inner most thoughts and feelings of the character.

I paint figures that ingest a revelation of colors and enter into my fantasy world. They dance with animals and exist to speak to you, for a moment or a lifetime.

My love of Van Gogh, Gauguin, and Lautrec all have inspired me. These impressionists used unconventional combinations of colors, unusual design patterns and compositions. Their techniques seeped into my soul, only to surface into my creations and give birth to my style and expression.

The mystery of a blank canvass like the beginning script of a play, unravels with each dab of color and reveals my characters as they form with each brush movement.

My goal has continually been to represent my love of life on canvass with my representational figures – mostly women, I wish to have my paintings connect to the observer in the manner of Picasso, Van Gogh and Gauguin, as they portrayed their special friends and associates.

For true art connects to the soul. How else does one live and love without the love to paint?
